Event Description

This webinar explored the application of N-of-1 trials and single-case experimental designs (SCEDs) in complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) research. Presented by Associate Professor Jane Nikles, the session examined why single-case methodologies are well suited to personalised, whole-person approaches to care and discussed practical design considerations for interventions with gradual onset or prolonged treatment effects. The webinar highlighted a range of SCED approaches that can accommodate methodological challenges such as uncertain washout periods while supporting rigorous and clinically meaningful evaluation of complementary medicine interventions. The recording continues to serve as a valuable resource for researchers and clinicians interested in applying single-case methodologies in this field.
